Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry position at a 5-time Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and both MO and KS RN licenses in hand.

- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a 456-bed tertiary care, Level 1 Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Patient population includes pulmonary, wound, urology, general cardiac, general neuro, and general renal diagnoses
- Standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, with occasional flex to 1:6
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period (any combination of Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required
- Charge RN assignments may be required as needed
- Holiday shift coverage required as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting via Epic
- Required skills include: interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, heparin protocols, PCA, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), non-invasive airway management, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
- Preferred skills include: management of dysrhythmias, rapid response team utilization, feeding tube care, renal failure management, CVA care, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, surgical drains, and tracheostomy management
- Navy scrubs required

Requirements
- Active RN license — both Missouri (or compact) and Kansas licenses must be in hand prior to consideration, as floating between facilities may require cross-state licensure
- Current certifications required: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/telemetry specialty experience required
- Must have at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year
- Prior experience in a MS/Telemetry or Cardiac Telemetry setting required
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor-level or above; the second may be a charge RN — both must be from someone who has worked with the candidate within the past year
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Travel partners are not accepted
- RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
- Pre-completion modules are required as part of onboarding compliance (approximately 10–15 hours total)
- No radius exemptions — local candidates are not accepted
