Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience for an outpatient pulmonary diagnostics position requiring PFT competency and PALS certification.
Details
- Outpatient pediatric respiratory therapy setting at a children's facility
- Serves patients from newborn to 21 years of age
- Performs advanced pulmonary function testing (PFT), including spirometry, plethysmography, diffusing capacity (DLCO), impulse oscillometry (IOS), methacholine challenge, exhaled nitric oxide testing, metabolic testing, nitrogen washout, aerosolized pentamidine therapy, and simple pulmonary stress testing (6-minute walk)
- Floating required to all outpatient facilities
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00–16:00
Requirements
- RRT credential required; CRTs will not be considered
- Active state respiratory therapy license required if applicable
- Pediatric experience required; NICU experience is not required
- PFT experience required
- Current PALS (American Heart Association) certification required
- Must be able to pass a Basic Windows Skills Assessment at 80% or higher
- Date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
- Two supervisor-level or higher professional references required for consideration, completed within the last 12 months
Additional Information
- Provides cardiopulmonary function testing while integrating the emotional, psychosocial, educational, and developmental needs of pediatric patients and their families
- Delivers non-critical respiratory care including patient assessment, aerosol therapy, patient education, and airway management
- Monitors patient and family comprehension and compliance with treatment and testing protocols
- May serve as a departmental team leader, overseeing day-to-day clinical operations and supporting implementation of new equipment, procedures, and policies
- Participates in care planning and suggests alternatives to achieve desired clinical outcomes
- Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a collaborative outpatient environment
