Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro Surgical ICU (NSICU) position in Asheville, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and proficiency with neurology patient care.
Details
- 12-bed Neuro Surgical ICU (NSICU) in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Neurology patient population, including post-thrombectomy, TPA, and post-neurosurgery cases
- Procedures performed include CRRT, bedside EVD placement, and A-line monitoring
- Baxter pumps used on the unit
- Cerner EMR in use
- Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Self-scheduling with unit needs considered; 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period
- Travelers float first to other ICUs or step-down units
Requirements
- Active NC RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Neurology ICU experience strongly preferred
- Experience with CRRT, EVDs, and A-line monitoring is a plus
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to neurology patients including post-thrombectomy, TPA, and post-neurosurgery cases
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- 13-week travel contract
