Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a diagnostic radiology position at a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ARRT-R certification.

Details

• Work in a high-volume diagnostic radiology department averaging 350–400 patients per day
• Patient population includes adults and pediatrics from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
• Equipment includes Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Intelli-C multipurpose unit, Konica and Shimadzu portables, and GE and Siemens R/F rooms
• EMR is Epic
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, Friday/Saturday/Sunday (36 hours/week)
• No floating required
• On-call is required and rotated fairly among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in diagnostic radiology, with most recent experience within the last year
• Current BLS and ARRT-R certification required
• Active state license required if applicable
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment required
• Academic teaching hospital experience preferred given the facility type
• 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Former employees who held a permanent position must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year before being eligible
• Department is led by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager; team includes members with a wide range of experience levels
• Orientation consists of a facility and departmental tour with introductions, plus up to 5 days of departmental orientation (flexible based on traveler needs)
• Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is approved in advance
• Time off requests require manager approval
• Black scrubs required for technologists
• Free parking is available in several nearby parking decks
• A clinical interview with the department manager is required
