Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and high-risk OB skills, located in Asheville, NC.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting, located on the 4th floor of the G Tower
• 16-bed unit staffed with RNs, Charge Nurses, PCTs, and CSTs on both day and night shifts
• Patient population includes high-risk obstetric patients requiring immediate newborn care
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
• Procedures performed include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-Hyst
• Equipment used includes Baxter pumps and Philips electronic fetal monitoring
• EMR system: Cerner and Fetal Ink
• Day shift hours: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (12-hour shifts)
• Floating may be required to MFMU, MOMB, and NICU
• Weekend work is not required but available upon approval
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS or ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted), NRP Advanced 9th Edition, and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring certification or NCCEFM
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• High-risk OB experience required
• Immediate newborn care experience required
• Circulating experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing vaginal deliveries, assisting with C-sections, and providing immediate newborn care
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
