Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of PICU experience and a minimum of one prior travel assignment.
Details
- Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a large academic medical center designated as a Level 1 Burn, Trauma, and Eye Center for the State of Maryland
- Patient population ranges from newborn to 21 years of age
- Medical diagnoses include respiratory failure, metabolic disorders, seizure disorders, multiorgan failure, shock, toxic ingestions, ECMO, and ventricular assist devices
- Surgical cases include extensive general, cardiac, thoracic, transplant, orthopedic, and neurological procedures
- Medication management includes continuous infusions and intermittent medications such as narcotics, vasopressors, diuretics, PN/IL, IVP, PCAs, PO, and GT/JT
- Patient-to-nurse ratio is 2:1 or 1:1
- Rotating 12-hour shifts covering both day (7A) and night (7P) hours
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, PALS, and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of current Pediatric ICU experience required
- At least one prior travel assignment required
- Experience at a large facility (500+ beds) required
- Critical Care Certification preferred
- Trauma course completion preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Active licensure documentation and one professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
- Administer and manage complex continuous infusions and intermittent medications for critically ill pediatric patients
- Support patients undergoing high-acuity surgical procedures including cardiac, thoracic, and transplant cases
