Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Infusion Unit position in a large academic medical center, requiring oncology infusion expertise and an active MA RN license.
Details
- Work in a 60-bed/chair outpatient infusion unit within a Division of Hematology-Oncology at a large academic medical center (AMC)
- Oncology infusion patient population requiring complex medication regimens, including complex GI regimens
- Strong IV skills and patient assessment are central to daily practice
- 36-hour per week day/night rotating schedule
- Required to work every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)
- Epic EMR used for charting
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of oncology infusion experience in an academic medical center (AMC)
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient infusion experience required
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Strong IV insertion and patient assessment skills required
- Experience with complex GI chemotherapy regimens required
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Administer oncology infusion therapies, monitor patient responses, and manage complex chemotherapy regimens in a high-volume outpatient setting
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced pay rate
- No validated parking is available at this Boston location; public parking is available at candidate's expense, and public transportation is recommended
- Time and attendance tracked via UKG/Kronos
