Description
American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of recent experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in Bradenton, FL, working Monday–Friday day shifts across acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings.
Details
- Work setting is a 383-bed acute care hospital with a 28-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF), serving an average daily census of approximately 240 patients
- Therapy staff provides services across the entire facility, including the Rehab Services floor
- Patient ratios are approximately 4 patients/day on the IRF unit and 8–12 patients/day in acute care
- Specialized equipment includes two therapy gyms, Vector, LiteGait, and an ADL Apartment
- EMR system is Meditech
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; no night shifts
- One weekend shift per month is required, and travelers are expected to work every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis with hospital staff
Requirements
- Active PT license required (license required if applicable)
- Active BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent physical therapy experience required; allied candidates must have at least 6 months of experience within the last 6 months
- Willingness to work on the IRF unit is required
- Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills required
- Hospital or IRF experience is highly preferred; stroke/neuro experience is a plus
- Candidates must not have gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- Two professional references required, as this position is in Florida
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

- Primary responsibilities include patient evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning across acute care and IRF settings
- Additional duties include team conferences, family training, and adaptive device and equipment fitting
- A team of 17 PTs (full-time and PRN) supports the department
- Ideal candidates are flexible, collaborative team players who can adapt to varying patient care needs across the facility
