Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of ED and critical care experience for a night shift position at a full-service acute care hospital in Hickory, NC.
Details
- Located in the Respiratory Therapy department on the 1st floor of an acute care hospital with 355 beds, including a 32-bed ED, Level 3 NICU, Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, and Lung Center
- Serves all patient populations including adult, pediatric, and neonatal
- Equipment includes ventilators (Servo-I, Drager Evita 500, PB 840, Hamilton T-1 & MR-1), BiPAP (V-60), ResMed CPAPs, high flow oxygen (Optiflow), MetaNebs, Vest, and Siemens RapidPoint 500e Blood Gas analyzers
- EMR: Cerner
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Alternating weekend hours required
- On-call may be required
- No floating required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required
- 2 years of experience preferred, with emphasis on ED and critical care
- Nursery/NICU experience preferred
- Active NC RRT license required if applicable
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (AHA certifications required)
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Must reside 60+ miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rate
- Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
- Must not be employed full-time elsewhere

- Must be a strong team player while also capable of functioning independently
- Department has high staff retention, reflecting a stable and collaborative work environment
- Preferred scrub color is gray or black; any solid color is acceptable — no printed scrubs
