Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a Level II Trauma Center in Bradenton, FL, requiring weekend flexibility and willingness to work on an IRF unit.
Details
- Occupational Therapy department serving the entire facility, including a 28-bed IRF and a 383-bed acute care hospital (avg census 240)
- Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Patient ratios of 4 patients/day on the IRF unit and 8–12 patients/day in acute care
- Facility features two therapy gyms and an ADL apartment
- EMR: Meditech
- Minimum 1 weekend shift per month required; increased weekend flexibility is highly preferred
- Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis with hospital staff
Requirements
- Active OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Active BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist; allied candidates must have 6 months of experience within the last 6 months
- Weekend flexibility required
- Willingness to work on the IRF unit required
- Hospital and/or IRF experience highly preferred
- Stroke/neuro experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two professional references required (Florida facility)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning
- Additional duties include team conferences, family training, and use of adaptive devices and equipment
- Therapy staff service the entire facility across both IRF and acute care settings
- Ideal candidate is flexible, collaborative, and a strong team player
- 15 OTs currently on staff, including full-time, part-time, and PRN employees
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
