Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position requiring ACLS, BLS, TNCC or TCAR, and NIH certifications, with night shift scheduling and float responsibilities.
Details
- Hospital ICU setting
- May be required to float to Med/Surg Telemetry unit during low census periods, with patient ratios of 5-6:1 when floating
- Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
- 36 or 48 hours per week considered
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC or TCAR, NIH Stroke Scale, 6 hours of Stroke education (can be provided if needed), and EKG course completion (can be provided if needed)
- 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
Additional Information
- The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana — a positive result will result in automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid any substances that could cause a positive result, including CBD products, prior to their onsite drug screen

Pro RT environment, working with the unit staff and department staff. Charting is easy cerner. If you know your job you will be fine.
Cons
Scheduling is very difficult for travelers. Full time is 3&4, weekends are alternating Saturday and Sunday. Bureaucracy issues. Housing is difficult to find and expensive due to oil city. In the NICU you are on your own not many staff or team leads crossed trained. There is some disorganization.
