Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR Circulating RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level III Trauma facility in Las Cruces, NM, requiring multi-specialty surgical experience and on-call availability.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room in a Level III Trauma facility
- Surgical specialties include General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
- Day shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
- On-call required: averaged across OR RNs at approximately 7 calls per 6-week period; weekday call runs 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM and weekend call consists of 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
- Holiday coverage is required
- No floating required
- EMR systems: Medhost and PICIS
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NM RN license or Compact RN license (must be active; pending licenses not accepted)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of OR circulating experience required
- Experience across multiple surgical specialties required: General, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
- Valid driver's license required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- All certifications must remain active through at least the first 30 days of the assignment
- Fingerprinting required for all candidates working in New Mexico
Additional Information
- Functions as the circulating nurse, responsible for patient safety, documentation, surgical workflow coordination, and sterile field support throughout the intraoperative phase
- Performs patient assessment and advocacy, case preparation, equipment and supply management, specimen handling, medication administration, and multidisciplinary team coordination
- Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, first assistants, and ancillary staff
- Hospital-laundered scrubs are provided
- RTO is limited to less than one week for the duration of the contract
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
