Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Belleville, IL, with a focus on surgical patients following ERAS protocols.
Details
- Works in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a Magnet-designated acute care hospital (31-bed unit within a 222-bed facility)
- Specializes in surgical patient care following the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program order set and protocol
- Patient ratio is 1:5-6
- Day shift schedule: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week period)
- On-call is required
- Floating required to other Med/Surg Telemetry floors and between two sister campuses
- Charting is performed in Epic (experience required)
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required; pending IL license may be accepted — please note status upon applying
- Active MO RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- 13-week contract minimum
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply but must have a minimum of 3 years of RN experience
- Navy blue scrubs required
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- Block scheduling is not available
- Travelers may remain at this facility system for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
