Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit position in Michigan, requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit in a hospital setting
- Primary cardiac telemetry unit serving patients with heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain; may also receive overflow medical patients
- Patients are monitored both remotely via a telemetry room and directly on the unit
- Cardiac drip administration is required on this unit
- Charting via Cerner PowerChart
- Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts (0700–1930)
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 2 out of 3 assigned holidays
- No on-call requirements
- Patient ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:6, but may increase to 1:7 in the event of call-ins
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring, managing cardiac drips, and caring for a complex cardiovascular and stroke patient population
- The unit is actively onboarding travelers to help manage workload during call-ins, and the hiring process for PCTs has begun
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, though the management team will make efforts to accommodate requests
- All time off and scheduling requests should be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- Royal blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted; applicants must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
