Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a Medical/Surgical unit (Medical North 4, 26 beds)
• General medical patient population with a variety of diagnoses
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:7–8 on nights
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three shifts per week (36 hours)
• Every other weekend requirement — candidates must be available to work full weekends including Sundays
• Every other holiday required
• Charge nurse support shared with another unit, nurse aides available at a 1:8 ratio
• Epic EMR used; experience is required
• Hospitalist on-site 24/7
• IV Team available 7:00 AM–8:30 PM; nurse resource available for IV support overnight
• RT available 24/7; nurses perform all respiratory treatments
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• CPAP administered only during HS (bedtime) hours
• Flexibility to accept up to 48-hour work weeks required

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must be willing and able to work every other weekend, including Sundays
• Must be available to work up to 48 hours per week when needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Scrub color requirement: Caribbean blue top (uniform layer); undershirts may be black or white; pants may be black or Caribbean blue
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Lunch breaks are unpaid
• No blocked schedules can be accommodated
• No RTO within the first two weeks of the start date; minimal RTO thereafter
• Nurses are responsible for performing all respiratory treatments
