Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Epic experience, AHA certifications, and a minimum of one year of ED nursing experience in Illinois.
Details
- Emergency Department (ED) unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Two on-call shifts required per 6-week schedule period; call shifts are 13 hours with expectation to be onsite within one hour
- A mandatory 2-week nights rotation is required for all travelers
- Block scheduling is not available
- Every other weekend shift required
- Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
- No floating required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant ED nursing experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
- TNCC highly preferred
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, care plan development and modification, nursing interventions, and accurate documentation within the ED setting
- Collaborates with providers, patients, and families to deliver and adjust individualized care
- Upholds patient and staff safety standards by adhering to protocols and reporting or correcting hazards
- Candidates who have been on assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any of its locations
- RTO may not exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded but should have strong ED experience to be competitive
