Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with neuro and multi-setting experience for a 13-week travel contract in Austin, TX working Thursday–Sunday, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM.

Details

• Position is based in both a Rehab Hospital and an Acute Hospital, covering Inpatient Rehab (IPR), Outpatient (OP), and Acute care settings
• 64-bed IPR unit, 400-bed acute hospital, with full outpatient services
• Schedule is Thursday through Sunday, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
• Weekend rotation based on utilization, approximately 1–2 weekend days per 4 weeks
• Patient care expectation is 75% direct patient care per 8-hour shift
• Patient population includes spinal cord injury (SCI), brain injury (BI), stroke rehab, and other neurological and acute conditions

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required; allied candidates must have at least 6 months of experience within the last 6 months
• Neuro background required, including SCI, brain injury, and stroke rehab
• Experience across multiple settings — Acute, IPR, and Outpatient — required
• Active PT license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no exceptions; no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include following a provided treatment schedule, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, and meeting productivity standards
• Ability to transition between multiple programs (IPR, OP, Acute) on any given day is preferred
• Familiarity with IPR post-acute guidelines and the CARE tool assessment is a plus
• The facility holds HCA Center of Excellence designations for Stroke, SCI, and Amputee programs, and is pursuing COE status for Brain Injury and Cancer programs; it is also Comprehensive Stroke Certified
• Caribbean Blue scrubs required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
