Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele/Neuro/Stroke position in Chesapeake, VA, requiring EPIC proficiency, prior neuro/stroke experience, and a VA or compact RN license in hand.

• Position is in a Med/Surg Telemetry/Neuro/Stroke unit (6S)
• Located in the Chesapeake, VA area — minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk
• 13-week contract
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM); candidate shift preference will be noted
• Patient ratio is 1:7
• Floating required
• Holiday coverage required within the contract period
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Epic EMR — proficiency required, no exceptions

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; prior travel experience required
• Prior experience working with neurology and/or stroke patients required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• IV insertion and telemetry interpretation skills required
• No license or background violations will be considered
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide med/surg telemetry care to neuro and stroke patient populations
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront at the time of submission
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to the travel experience requirement
