Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Level 2 NICU position in Payson, UT, requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience and active NRP certification.

Details

• Small 5-bed Level 2 NICU within a hospital setting, caring for infants 32 weeks gestation and older, up to 30 days of age
• Patient ratios are 1:1 for CPAP patients, 1:2 standard, and occasionally 1:3 for feeder/grower patients
• Equipment used includes CPAP, Hi-Flow, OG tubes, IVs, PANDA warmers, and Giraffe warmers — no ventilators; vented patients are transferred
• Procedures performed include surfactant administration, UVC placement, occasional chest tubes, and delivery catch and transition
• Documents using CPN (Centricity Perinatal)
• Night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 3 shifts per week
• Floating to Mother/Baby is expected, as NICU census is approximately 50 patients per year; travelers will work Mother/Baby the majority of the time
• NICU, Labor & Delivery, and Postpartum units are co-located and work closely together; a second NICU nurse is always present

Requirements

• Active UT RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand required
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience required
• Required certifications: NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card), STABLE, and BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Nurses are responsible for delivery catch and newborn transitions, in addition to standard NICU care
• Mother/Baby cross-training may be provided for candidates without prior Mother/Baby experience
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Wine-colored scrubs are required; some scrubs are available on the unit
• The Women's Services department has been recognized as a Unit of Distinction for 3 consecutive years
• The unit has a stable, low-turnover nursing team with a collaborative and supportive work environment
• The facility delivers 30–40 babies per month
