Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (IMC) night shift position requiring a minimum of 1-2 years of experience, vent experience, and tracheostomy skills.
Details
- Work setting is a 43-bed Medical Telemetry/IMC unit (Bean 5) within an acute care hospital
- Patient population includes respiratory, medical telemetry, surgical, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and acute-on-chronic medical conditions
- IMC patient ratios: 3:1 (day and night); Med/Surg patient ratios: 1:4-5 (days) and 1:5-6 (nights)
- Equipment includes ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, nasal cannula, non-rebreather masks, epidural pumps, IV pumps, PCA pumps, specialty beds, VAC dressings, and trach care supplies
- EMR is Epic
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
- No on-call requirements
- Floating is required: IMC RNs may float to other IMC-level units or to med/surg as needed; med/surg RNs may float to similar-level units based on unit need and nursing skill
Requirements
- Active ME RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required
- IMC RNs must have ventilator experience
- All candidates must have experience with tracheostomy care and reading/interpreting telemetry strips
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- 13-week contract
- Mandatory MMC onboarding education modules must be completed upon start
- No travel pairs or groups allowed
- Personal electronic devices including AirPods, laptops, and cell phones are prohibited on the unit
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and are subject to a reduced bill rate
- Local candidates are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should note this when applying
- A 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply as needed
- No scrub color requirement; unprofessional clothing and non-hospital logo shirts are not permitted
