Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CCU/Coronary Care Unit position requiring at least 1 year of critical care experience, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certification, working night shifts in Hendersonville, TN.
Details
- Work setting is a 20-bed CCU/Coronary Care Unit (CCU) in an acute care hospital in Hendersonville, TN
- Patient ratio is 2:1 for CCU patients
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week period
- Unit is supported by a unit secretary on both days and nights, with occasional tech assistance
- Equipment used includes GE monitors, Alaris pumps, and Puritan Bennett ventilators
- Documentation system is Meditech; experience is required
- Travelers are expected to float before core staff
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state license or a Compact RN license is required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA or ARC accepted), and NIH Stroke Scale
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 1 year in critical care
- Meditech EMR experience required
- Proficiency managing arterial lines, venous/arterial sheaths, cardiovascular and vasopressor drips, and ventilated patients
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Procedures performed on the unit include bedside central line placement and massive transfusion protocol
- The facility is recognized as a Clinical Transformation & Innovation (CT&I) alpha hub within HCA, with a focus on leveraging technology to reduce EHR time and increase patient care time
- The CCU is the highest level of care unit in Sumner County
- Recent GE monitor upgrades have been completed on the unit
- Black scrubs are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- This is the highest level of care unit available in the county, offering a dynamic critical care environment
