Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Trauma ICU (nights) position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Trauma ICU experience and an active NV RN license.
Details
- 27-bed Beacon Designation ICU specializing in trauma and surgical patient populations
- Patient population includes traumatic injuries such as Spinal Cord Injuries, TBI, Extremity Fractures, and Solid Organ Injuries, as well as surgical patients including Craniotomies, Craniectomies, and Multiple Bowel Surgeries
- Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts per week
- Floating to other units may be required up to the traveler's competency level
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
- Call is not required as a standard part of the assignment
- Epic is the EMR used; training is provided during orientation or candidates may test out
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a temporary or permanent NV license may still be considered and must apply immediately upon offer
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (APEX)
- Minimum 2 years of Trauma ICU experience required
- CCRN strongly preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Fast-paced, high-volume environment serving a 500-mile radius; though designated as a Level II Trauma Center, the volume and pace are comparable to a Level I
- Facility is the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City, treating over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually
- Care is delivered within a collaborative, multidisciplinary, patient-centered model
- Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the contract
- One additional shift pickup per 4-week scheduling period is required
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their last contract ends before returning
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for RTO
- Kronos is used for time tracking
