Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in North Carolina, requiring at least one year of LDRP experience and AWHONN certification.

Details

• 8-bed LDRP unit with a 7-bed overflow postpartum department
• Responsibilities span triage, labor and delivery, postpartum, OR circulation, PACU recovery, and nursery care for sick newborns
• Patient ratios: 1:1 for critical situations (e.g., Category III fetal heart rate or active pushing), 2 nurses present for each birth (1 for mother, 1 for baby), and 1:2-3 for mother-baby couplets in postpartum
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating limited to sitter needs only — travelers will not be pulled to take other unit assignments
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• AWHONN certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in an LDRP setting (labor, postpartum, GYN, nursery, OR, and PACU)
• Two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine required, or an approved declination on file

Additional Information

• Charge nurse experience is a plus but not required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius rule applies
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 90 days before returning as a traveler
