Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with ECMO experience for a rotating days/nights pediatric-focused role at a large-volume academic children's hospital.
Details
- Work in a high-volume pediatric and adult ECMO program at an academic children's hospital
- Primary focus on pediatric ECMO patients who are stable on ECMO
- Patient population includes congenital heart disease, congenital diaphragmatic hernias, and respiratory failure
- Pediatric patient ratio is 1:1, occasionally 1:2; adult ratio is 1:3 with remote monitoring and rounding care model
- Rotating day and night shifts (3x12-hour shifts); days run 7:00–19:00, nights run 19:00–7:00
- 2 weekends required per 4-week departmental scheduling period
- No call or floating required
- Epic EMR — experience required
Requirements
- Current RRT certification and BLS required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- ECMO experience required
- Prior experience at an urban or academic medical center required
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration — charge RNs are not acceptable references
- Flu shot required; no exemptions accepted
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted, provided they have prior ECMO specialist experience at an urban or academic medical center
- Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible to apply
- All time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- Flu shot deadline will be communicated by the compliance team if applicable and in season
