Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 1+ years of IR, Hybrid OR, and Scrub/Special Procedures experience for a Level II Trauma Center's IR program.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology department of an acute care hospital
• Perform minimally invasive image-guided vascular and nonvascular procedures for inpatient and outpatient populations
• Daily case load of 7-15 cases
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, working either 7:00 AM-5:00 PM or 7:30 AM-5:30 PM Monday through Friday
• No weekend shift requirement
• On-call requirement of 5 weekday nights and 1 full weekend every 6 weeks
• May float between two campuses located approximately 12 miles apart
• Uses PACS system for imaging
• Works with Philips and Siemens equipment and ultrasound

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required; IR, Hybrid OR, Scrub, and Special Procedures experience required
• ARRT(R) certification required, ARRT(VI) preferred
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NJDEP Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License required (can be obtained prior to start); license required if applicable
• Proficiency in vascular access including venous access, port management, and central venous/PICC line care
• Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Skilled in procedural workflow including room circulating, scrubbing, sterile technique, and equipment set-up
• Experience with abdominal, visceral, genitourinary, and vascular procedures including angiography, angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, and IVC filter placement/removal
• Experience with dialysis graft interventions, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and TIPS procedures
• Knowledge of equipment, inventory, and supply management

• Responsibilities include acting as room circulator, scrubbing to maintain sterile field, prepping access sites, and accurate patient monitoring during procedures
• Support a wide range of IR procedures including angiography, embolization, biopsies, stent placements, and venous access interventions
• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Hospital-provided scrubs

• 2-day orientation for technologists
• First-time travelers will be considered
