Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II - Pediatrics with at least 2 years of NICU/PICU hospital experience and current RRT certification for a day shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Respiratory Care Services department of a hospital setting
• Care for NICU and PICU patient populations
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Day shift hours from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours weekly
• 0.9 FTE position
• On-call required approximately 1 weekend per 6 weeks
• Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 6 weeks
• Must be available to work Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day
• No ECMO experience required for this position

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the NBRC required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting with NICU/PICU exposure
• Oscillatory ventilator experience required within the last 5 years
• At least one of the following certifications required depending on practice area: ACLS, NRP, PALS, or CPFT
• Advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in Bronchoscopy Lab may satisfy certification requirement in lieu of ACLS/NRP/PALS/CPFT
• Skilled in oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilator management, and aerosol therapy
• Skilled in arterial blood gas analysis, tracheostomy care, endotracheal intubation and extubation
• Strong clinical documentation, technical interpretation, and communication skills
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Administer competent respiratory care through airway management, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy
• Perform standard respiratory care including aerosol medication delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, and arterial punctures
• Provide comprehensive airway management including tracheostomy care, tube changes, and endotracheal intubation/extubation
• Perform pulmonary function testing as needed
• Function independently with minimal supervision and serve as a resource to other staff
• Maintain and continuously improve job knowledge and clinical skills
