Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehabilitation RN for a 13-week travel contract in Gallatin, TN, requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit within a 167-bed acute care hospital designated as a Level III Trauma Center
- 12-bed rehab unit with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
- Adult patient population ranging from 21 to 90+ years of age
- Common diagnoses include orthopedic conditions, stroke, neurological disorders, cardiac conditions, spinal cord injury (SCI), spine and brain injuries, and myopathy
- Equipment used includes patient lifts, sliding boards, Sara Steady, various PT/OT equipment, EKG monitors, and vital sign machines
- EMR is Meditech
- Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend requirement, with call as needed
- Floating to Med/Surg or other acute care units required when census is low
Requirements
- Active RN license valid in Tennessee (TN state license or compact license) required
- Current BLS certification (AHA-issued) required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Rehab and/or Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
- Strong communication, teamwork, flexibility, clinical decision-making, patient safety, and physician/APP escalation skills required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include providing inpatient rehabilitation nursing care across a diverse adult population with ortho, neuro, cardiac, and other complex diagnoses
- Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
- All required certifications must be in hand prior to assignment start date
- All clinical staff working in Tennessee must be cleared through the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to start
- Scrub color is flexible; scrubs or scrub bottoms paired with a t-shirt or sweatshirt are acceptable — no other facility-branded clothing or casual wear permitted
- The ideal candidate is positive, empathetic, and team-oriented
