Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro Med/Surg night shift position in Nashville, TN, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active TN or compact RN license.
Details
- Located in Nashville, TN at an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center certified facility
- 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit (3rd floor)
- Patient ratio of 6:1
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Two weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule
- Tech support available on both day and night shifts; unit secretary available 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Equipment includes IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
- Documentation via Meditech
- Travelers are first to float and rotate when multiple contract staff are scheduled
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Proficiency with IV insertion, basic wound care, surgical drain maintenance, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Deliver attentive, compassionate care with an emphasis on bedside shift report and family-inclusive care planning
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Navy scrub tops and bottoms required
