Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of PICU experience and a minimum of one prior travel assignment.
Details
- Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a major academic medical center
- Level 1 Designated Burn, Trauma, and Eye Center for the State of Maryland
- Patient population ranges from newborn to 21 years of age
- Medical diagnoses include respiratory failure, metabolic disorders, seizure disorders, multi-organ failure, shock, toxic ingestions, ECMO, and ventricular assist devices
- Surgical cases include extensive general, cardiac, thoracic, transplant, orthopedic, and neurological procedures
- Administers continuous infusions and intermittent medications including narcotics, vasopressors, diuretics, PN/IL, IVP, PCAs, PO, and GT/JT
- Patient-to-nurse ratio is 2:1 or 1:1
- Rotating day/night 12-hour shifts (7A/7P)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, PALS, and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of current Pediatric ICU experience
- At least one prior travel nursing assignment required
- Experience at a comparable facility size (500+ bed facility) required
- Critical Care Certification preferred
- Trauma course completion preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Active RN license and one professional reference required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
- Provides critical care nursing to a complex pediatric population including post-surgical and medically complex patients
- Manages continuous infusions, vasopressors, and advanced device support including ECMO and ventricular assist devices
