Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU night shift position requiring cardiac and neuro experience with Epic proficiency in an acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Acute care hospital CVICU setting with 276 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7p–7a
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation required
• Floating within scope to like units is required, with travelers expected to float first
• Epic EMR used; experience is required

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand prior to start; candidates with a pending SC license may still be considered
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience required; 2 years preferred
• Cardiac and neuro experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Pre-assignment orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Parking is provided at no cost
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff including contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
