Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Columbia, SC.
Details
- Works in a cardiac cath lab at a 304-bed acute care hospital
- Lab runs 4–5 procedure rooms per day with 2 CVTs per lab and approximately 20 cases per day
- Procedures include coronary diagnostic and interventional cases requiring scrub and monitor proficiency
- Charting is done in Epic
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (0700–1730), though shifts may extend until all procedures are complete
- On-call is required: one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per month plus one call shift and one evening shift per week; call requirements may shift based on staffing needs
- Holiday coverage is required as needed
- No floating to other service lines or sister facilities required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Proficiency in coronary diagnostic and interventional scrub and monitor techniques required
- BLS and ACLS required (AHA-issued certifications only)
- ARRT or RCIS required (registered or currently in process)
- SC SCRQSA license required if applicable; candidates with a pending license may be considered but must be cleared before starting
- Radiation badge required and must be provided by the candidate's agency
- SSN and valid driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Hospital-issued scrubs are provided for the cath lab
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Parking is available at no cost via a parking pass distributed at badge pickup; garage clearance is limited to average-sized SUVs and trucks
