Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down (HVTI) position at a major academic medical center in Cleveland, OH, requiring at least 18 months of Step-Down experience and an active OH or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the HVTI Step-Down unit of a large academic hospital setting
• Potential to float to other units (J1-2, J33) and the ED to care for the same patient population
• Day/Night rotating shifts: Days 7:00am–7:30pm, Nights 7:00pm–7:30am
• Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts per week
• At least every other holiday must be worked

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current, active certifications required (nothing pending): BLS (AHA or American Red Cross), ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 18 months of combined permanent experience in a Step-Down specialty required; experience within a single location is preferred but not required
• Minimum 18 months of recent Step-Down experience required; travel experience is accepted
• PCU/Progressive Care experience preferred but not required
• Two professional references from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the Step-Down specialty, from assignments worked within the past 12 months, are required for consideration — co-worker references are not accepted
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• No open background check cases will be accepted; license hits are not accepted

• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Permanent and per diem employees of the health system cannot return for 1 year following their previous end date
• ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments are completed during orientation; a passing score on both is required, with a maximum of two attempts allowed
• BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract
• Pre-start modules averaging 6–15 hours are completed prior to the start date
• Nurses are exempt from the facility's Nicotine-Free requirements until further notice

• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to or at the time of consideration
