Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Lima, OH, requiring 2+ years of experience, telemetry competency, and an active OH or Compact RN license.
Details
- 13-week contract in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to all units within skill level may be required
Requirements
- Active OH or Compact RN license required (must be verified active in Nursys)
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Active NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Competency with cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardene, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex, including titration
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and heart rhythm interpretation
- Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient status, including stroke signs and symptoms
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
Additional Information
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria
- Assists in directing and teaching non-RN staff including LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries
- A current Med/Surg Telemetry skills checklist (within the past year) is required for consideration
- RTO requests are limited to no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract
- Candidates seeking more than 50% of holidays off may experience a longer decision timeline
