Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a large academic acute care hospital, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• MS/Tele unit in a short-term acute care, academic teaching facility with 1,266 staffed beds
• Patient population includes medical-surgical, post-interventional, neuro overflow, surgical overflow, and pre/post-operative patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4–5
• High acuity, high-turnover unit requiring experience with acute medicine, tube feeds, oxygen titration, and total care patients
• Phlebotomy performed on unit
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the service line required to meet facility needs; may work in another area on certain shifts
• No on-call requirements
• Navy scrubs required

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration; pending IL license acceptable for Illinois-based applicants
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may work at this health system for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
• Former permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before working as a traveler at any BJC facility
• Parking passes are available for purchase on a monthly basis through the facility's Public Safety department; night shift workers may park at no charge in employee parking
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
