Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Oncology Clinic position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Outpatient oncology clinic setting serving medical oncology and non-malignant hematology patients
• Triage-focused role involving patient care coordination, results communication, phone triage, and patient education
• Assigned to 1-2 providers per shift with coordination of care and follow-up responsibilities
• Patient volume of approximately 20 visits/day across 4 rooms
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:00–17:00
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed to similar outpatient centers/clinics
• Epic EMR experience required; SBAR communication framework used
• No chemotherapy or infusion administration performed at this facility

Requirements

• Active NC RN license or compact RN license (may be pending at time of consideration)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Outpatient oncology experience required
• Epic EMR experience required; candidates with at least one of either outpatient oncology or Epic experience may be screened
• Candidates must bring their own stethoscope
• Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required (pending at time of consideration is acceptable, but must be on file by start date)

Additional Information

• OCN certification preferred
• Chemotherapy administration and IV start experience preferred
• Weekly orientation provided; completion of 4–5 hours of online modules required prior to start and annually
• First-time travelers are accepted with qualifying outpatient oncology experience
• Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a different pay rate
• Previous permanent, PRN, or contract employees of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
• No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday
• Candidate must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Scrubs are not provided by the facility
• Travel pairs are permitted; each traveler must have their own transportation and be flexible with differing schedules
• An interview with the hiring manager is required before an offer will be extended
