Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Washington, requiring at least 3 years of ICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool position at a 500-bed Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma academic teaching hospital
• Floats to all critical care units to meet facility needs
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• 26-week contract
• Telemetry monitoring required with proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Required skills include mechanical ventilation (vents), IV insertion, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Preferred skills include intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring and pulmonary artery (PA) line management
• Epic EMR — required (hard stop)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact RN license — must be in hand (pending license not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 3 years of critical care (ICU) experience required, with experience at a Level I Trauma Center
• Recent ICU experience within the last year required
• Academic/teaching facility experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management required — a telemetry competency test will be administered
• COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
• First-time travelers will not be considered — strong ICU experience is essential
• References must be from a direct supervisor (charge RN references are not accepted)

Additional Information

• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates — no radius requirement
• Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be submitted prior to consideration; no additional RTO will be granted after an offer is made, and RTO cannot be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required — must work 2 of 3 major holidays (eve and day of count as one holiday set)
• Onsite parking available at $5/evening and $4/night; offsite parking available at $10/day with a 10-minute shuttle (weekdays 5am–10pm only)
