Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department position requiring a MA RN license and telemetry reading skills.
Details
- Emergency Department at a Level I Trauma Center
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Shift start time may rarely flex up to 4 hours earlier or later based on urgent staffing needs
- Assignment length available from 13 to 26 weeks, with 36 or 48 hours per week options
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Care for patients requiring psychiatric and behavioral health services within the ED
Requirements
- Active, permanent MA RN license required in hand
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum of 1.5 years (18 months) of ED experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry required
- Skills in respiratory care, ventilated patient management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Triage skills preferred
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
- Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered
Additional Information
- Must pass a medication exam and a telemetry exam during orientation, each with one attempt allowed; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
- Study materials provided during the compliance process and facility-directed interviews to help prepare for required exams
- Completion of pre-start, orientation, and annual modules required, tracked through the facility's Workday system
- Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, with no time off allowed during the first week
- One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) must be included in requested time off
- Priority given to candidates with minimal requested time off and 26-week contract commitments
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
- Previous employees must have a 12-month separation from the health system before reapplying
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
