Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Telemetry/2 South unit position in Thornton, CO, requiring at least 1 year of acute care telemetry experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.
Details
- Located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building, within an 18-bed Telemetry/2 South unit
- Day shift (7A–7P) on a 13-week travel contract
- Patient ratio is 5:1 (RN to patient)
- Day shift staffing includes 1 Charge RN, 3–4 RNs, and 2 PCTs; night shift mirrors this structure
- Patient population includes chest pain, stroke workups, CHF, AFib with RVR, TBIs, orthopedic injuries, blunt force trauma, poly-trauma, SCIs, GSWs, and stabbings
- Common procedures include neurovascular checks on limbs, frequent ambulation and repositioning, orthopedic precautions, and comprehensive pain management
- Equipment includes GE wireless telemetry monitors and Welch Allyn vital sign machines
- EMR system is Meditech
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care telemetry RN experience required
- At least 2 years of total clinical experience required for this HCA facility
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for all Tele RNs
- SSN (US only, no Canadian) and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Preferred experience includes trauma/orthopedic and neuro/stroke backgrounds
- NIH certification is preferred in addition to being required per HCA Tele unit standards — candidates with this certification will be prioritized
- The unit is highly team-oriented, with several staff members having 10+ years of experience on the unit who actively support and mentor new staff
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible, no exceptions
- Former or current employees of HCA Healthcare may be subject to additional eligibility restrictions
