Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Post Acute Long Term Care position in Maine, working night shifts across specialized units including Alzheimer's/dementia care, transitional rehab, and long-term care.

Details

• Work setting includes three distinct units within a post-acute long-term care facility: a 31-bed Alzheimer's/dementia specialized unit, a 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (short-term skilled nursing and rehab), and a 42-bed long-term care unit
• Patient population includes residents with Alzheimer's/dementia, long-term care residents, and patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other acute illnesses or injuries
• Clinical services include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Floating to other units is required
• Must be available for flexible coverage across a 24/7 schedule

Requirements

• Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills required
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care in partnership with residents and interdisciplinary care teams to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
• Care on the Alzheimer's/dementia unit involves both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and an understanding of behavior as a form of communication
• Candidates with any licensure issues will not be considered
