Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Post Acute Long Term Care position in Maine, working night shifts across specialized units including Alzheimer's/dementia care, transitional rehab, and long-term care.
Details
- Work setting includes three distinct units within a post-acute long-term care facility: a 31-bed Alzheimer's/dementia specialized unit, a 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (short-term skilled nursing and rehab), and a 42-bed long-term care unit
- Patient population includes residents with Alzheimer's/dementia, long-term care residents, and patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other acute illnesses or injuries
- Clinical services include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Floating to other units is required
- Must be available for flexible coverage across a 24/7 schedule
Requirements
- Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills required
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care in partnership with residents and interdisciplinary care teams to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
- Care on the Alzheimer's/dementia unit involves both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and an understanding of behavior as a form of communication
- Candidates with any licensure issues will not be considered
- Previous employees of this facility are not eligible to apply
