Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Telemetry/Med-Surg position in Ottumwa, IA, requiring a minimum of 1-2 years of experience and an active Iowa or compact RN license.
Details
- Med-Surg Telemetry unit within a regional health center serving adult and all-age patient populations
- Patient ratio of 1:6 with CNA and LPN support staff
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating may be required within a 25-mile radius of the facility
- 13-week contract
- EMR: MediTech
Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and Handle With Care (HWC); ACLS preferred but not required
- AHA-issued certifications required
- Iowa State background check (SING BG) required, including criminal and child abuse portions — no exceptions
- All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start — no instant or statewide searches accepted
- Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult) required
- 10-panel drug screening including opiates required
- Titers must be from within the last 12 months
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Travel experience preferred but not required — first-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates may not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates may not be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Monday or Tuesday start dates available
