Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of experience and required BLS/NRP certifications for a night shift position requiring EPIC charting proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Unit encompasses Antepartum, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby care areas
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- 13-week assignment length
- Every 3rd weekend required
- One holiday coverage required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating within scope required as part of a 'Helping Hands' program to support other units
- EPIC charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- ACLS, AWHONN, and STABLE certifications preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience with high-risk delivery, vaginal delivery, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
- Skilled in fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Experience with postpartum care including cesarean section recovery, couplet care, and postpartum hemorrhage management
- Proficient in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Assist with newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and newborn assessments
- Support breastfeeding and lactation efforts under baby-friendly protocols
- Provide discharge teaching and car seat education to new parents
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 70 miles of the facility are not accepted
- RTO should be requested upfront when possible
- May be required to participate in holiday rotation
