Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Medical Telemetry travel assignment on a 28-bed Cardiopulmonary and Neuro Overflow unit, with at least 1 year of experience and active RN licensure required.
Details
- 28-bed acute care unit (9 East) serving adult cardiopulmonary and neuro overflow patients
- Unit is equipped with cardiac telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry monitoring capabilities
- Unit is supported by PCTs, a Healthcare Unit Coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5–6
- Day shift: 06:30–19:00
- Travelers are required to work up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Holiday shifts required based on department needs
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (standard or compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
- Driver's License required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating care across disciplines, carrying out physician and nursing orders, and managing discharge planning
- Must be able to exercise critical thinking and decisive judgment with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, stressful environment
- Standard precautions and appropriate PPE must be followed at all times
