Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Medical Telemetry travel assignment on a 28-bed Cardiopulmonary and Neuro Overflow unit, with at least 1 year of experience and active RN licensure required.

Details

• 28-bed acute care unit (9 East) serving adult cardiopulmonary and neuro overflow patients
• Unit is equipped with cardiac telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry monitoring capabilities
• Unit is supported by PCTs, a Healthcare Unit Coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5–6
• Day shift: 06:30–19:00
• Travelers are required to work up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Holiday shifts required based on department needs
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (standard or compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating care across disciplines, carrying out physician and nursing orders, and managing discharge planning
• Must be able to exercise critical thinking and decisive judgment with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, stressful environment
• Standard precautions and appropriate PPE must be followed at all times
