Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Clyde, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of step-down or ICU experience and cardiac specialty background.

Details

• Located on the 4th floor of a 154-bed, Joint Commission Accredited hospital with a dedicated Chest Pain Center
• Progressive Care Step-down unit with 22 beds serving a cardiac specialty population
• Patient population includes cardiac observation, post cardiac cath lab, cardioversion, and adult patients
• Patient ratio is 4:1
• Telemetry equipment used; EMR is Paragon
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 hours per week on a 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating is required

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of step-down or ICU experience required
• Cardiac specialty experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA-issued certifications required)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum education required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides progressive cardiac care including monitoring and management of cardiac observation, post-cath lab, and cardioversion patients
• Ideal candidate is team-oriented with strong communication skills and flexibility
• Navy scrubs required; offensive tattoos and non-facility tops are not permitted
• Orientation is held bi-weekly
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere while on assignment
• Located in Clyde, NC, approximately 20 miles from Asheville and near Great Smoky Mountains National Park
