Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Step Down position requiring at least one year of experience, Epic proficiency, and tracheostomy care experience.

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Step Down unit
• Step down patient population with cases ranging from simple to complex complexity
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Step down experience required; ICU experience preferred
• Tracheostomy care experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting nursing interventions, administering medications, monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating discharge planning with patients and families
• Delegates tasks to support staff and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members
• Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly — this facility strictly enforces compliance deadlines and does not negotiate start dates
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility are eligible to apply but may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before re-engagement after 26 weeks
