Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Night Shift CVICU position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, and welcoming first-time travelers.
Details
- Cardiovascular ICU setting within a Surgical Intensive Care Unit
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
- Every other weekend required
- May float to MSICU, Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU as needed with brief orientation provided
Requirements
- Active OK or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and chest tube assistance
- Experience managing acute/chronic renal failure and CVVHD/CRRT
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administering continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with Impella and sheath removal
- Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Experience with IV insulin protocols
- Epic charting experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including monitoring, medication management, and emergency response
- Navy scrub color required
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
- Former staff members must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
