Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) setting
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
- Experience with ECMO care and nurse-driven ECMO protocols
- Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) management
- Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
- Experience caring for ventilated and post-cardiac surgery patients
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and ABGs
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
- Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide advanced cardiovascular critical care including hemodynamic and ventilator management
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as required
- Dark gray scrubs required
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for the travel rate
- Not eligible if residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
- Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
