Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience.

• Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) setting
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
• Experience with ECMO care and nurse-driven ECMO protocols
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) management
• Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Experience caring for ventilated and post-cardiac surgery patients
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and ABGs
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide advanced cardiovascular critical care including hemodynamic and ventilator management
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as required
• Dark gray scrubs required
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for the travel rate
• Not eligible if residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
