Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU/PICU experience and L&D background for a night shift pediatric hospital position requiring every other weekend availability.
Details
- Work in a NICU at a children's hospital, with floating to PICU and some Pediatric Acute Care
- Primary work will be in Labor & Delivery (L&D); home unit assignment (NICU, PICU, or Peds) is determined upon arrival and may change based on facility need
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend is required
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required
- Cerner charting experience is required
Requirements
- Active Indiana state license or Compact license required prior to consideration; license required if applicable
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, and NRP
- PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- L&D experience required
- Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; experience at a Level 1 adult facility may also be considered
- NICU or PICU experience required
- Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
- AHA and RQI certifications are accepted and must be current
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must be comfortable with and aware of the every other weekend requirement
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates; local candidates are accepted at a modified pay package for Allied positions
- Former permanent or PRN employees of the facility must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within the health system are required to take a break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break, prior to reaching the 12-month mark
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- NRP certification may be obtained after an offer is extended, as placement in L&D is determined by the client
