Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital in Salem, OR, requiring active OR licensure and at least 1 year of MS/Tele experience.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting (569 staffed beds) with Magnet, Teaching, and Level II Trauma Center designations
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a 1:4 RN patient ratio
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating may be required within scope to meet facility needs, including to a nearby sister hospital
- Charting via Epic (experience required, no exceptions)
- Free on-site parking available
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Oregon (OR) RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele experience within the last 3 years required
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias (telemetry strip reading required)
- Proficiency in Epic EMR (no exceptions)
- Skills required: O2 protocol, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care/management, isolation precautions/PPE, rapid response team activation, and computerized documentation
- COVID vaccination required — no exemptions

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates — no radius restriction
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO requests exceeding 2 weeks require approval; RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot be changed once under client review — additional requests may result in cancellation
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
