Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric OR night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of pediatric OR experience and at least 2 prior travel contracts in this setting.
Details
- Work setting is a pediatric hospital operating room with 8 total ORs, 2 of which are operational overnight
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Overnight cases are urgent and emergent add-ons only
- Weekend shifts required, likely Friday nights
- No on-call requirement
- Floating within scope may occasionally be required to meet facility needs
- Patient population is pediatric; experience with women's surgery is also preferred
- EMR is Epic
Requirements
- Active SC or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have proof of application
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a pediatric setting required
- Minimum 2 completed travel contracts within a pediatric OR setting required
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Skills required: emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy awareness, and malignant hyperthermia protocol
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; RTO requests submitted after the process has begun will not be accepted
- A radiation badge must be provided by the parent staffing company
- Pre-start orientation modules are required and completed before the assignment begins
- During hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August and September), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
