Description
American Traveler is hiring a Special Procedures Technologist for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring ARRT certification and at least 1 year of Special Procedures/Vascular IR experience.
Details
- Work in a hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Monday through Friday schedule, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, with call requirements to be discussed with the manager during the interview
- 40 hours per week
- Charting is performed in Cerner
- May float to a nearby sister hospital
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, or at least 1 year of experience in Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology
- Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professionals program
- Active SC or compact state license required if applicable
- SCRQSA Radiographer Certification required
- ARRT (R) certification required
- BLS through the American Heart Association required
- Completion of an ARRT-accredited Vascular Interventional Radiology program and ARRT VI certification preferred
- 2 references required for consideration
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Perform Special Procedures exams under the medical supervision of certified radiologists and in accordance with established protocols
- Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
- Responsible for patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care, including obtaining informed consent and communicating discharge instructions to family members
- Ensures correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical history are entered into the system and communicates effectively with radiologists
- Practices radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and adheres to DHEC, TJC, OSHA, and FDA standards
- Assists other members of the imaging team and clerical staff to maintain records, reports, and files
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
